Roadkill

A Collection of Poems from the Roadside

Roadkill is a collection of 70 poems documenting the degeneration of a partnership. As my first true experience with love quickly turned to ash in 2024, I kept a poetry journal documenting and processing the event. Writing Roadkill was a love letter to my own grief, betrayal, and general angst. The first part, "Fresh Meat", encompasses the poems I wrote for my partner during our relationship. The second part, "Rotten Flesh", is the direct aftermath of our break-up.

Roadkill shows the best and worst of my poetry; it is a tribute to the things I did to heal myself from love. I prefer to refer to Roadkill as a piece of art, rather than a book. We are all Roadkill.
